Box Springs Mountain Park: Pigeon Pass Road off Hwy. 60. Spread over 1,155 acres of undeveloped open space, Box Springs offers a getaway from the hustle and bustle. Equestrian and hiking trails climb the park's steep hills, and an interpretive trail introduces local flora and fauna. (951) 955-4310.

Martha McLeanAnza Narrows Park: 5759 Jurupa Avenue. This 40 acre park is one of the river's most beautiful day-use areas. Shade trees surround picnic areas, and there is access to more than 20 miles of equestrian and hiking trails. (951) 955-4310.

Rancho Jurupa Regional Park: Crestmore Road off Mission Blvd. This 350 acre section of the Santa Ana Regional Park has more than 10 miles of hiking and equestrian trails.There is also fishing, horseshoe pits and picnic facilities. The campground offers 88 camp sites. (951) 955-4310.

  California Citrus State Historic Park

It is the overall mission of California Citrus State Historic Park to preserve some of the rapidly vanishing cultural landscape of the citrus industry, and to tell the far-reaching story of this industry and its role in the history of California.

Lake Perris State Recreation Area: 17801 Lake Perris Drive, Perris. This popular 8,800 acre lakeside park has facilities for water-skiing, boating, sailing and windsurfing. There is also a swimming beach. There are more than 5 miles of hiking trails, and more than 12 miles of horseback and bicycling trails circling the lake, plus 430 camp sites. (951) 657-9000.
